First jobs
The September after I left school, I started work as a junior copywriter at Grigsmore, which was, at the time, the largest, most successful advertising agency in East Anglia.
It was a big business, with 50+ staff and some pretty interesting clients. I was thrilled to receive a commendation in the Campaign magazine press awards - a rare event in those days for anyone working outside London.
My art director and I left Grigsmore, freelanced together as a creative team, before taking part in founding what is now one of the region’s most successful advertising agencies. I played the role of writer and joint creative director.
