Moore Creative Ltd
Moore Creative was essentially a PR agency, and as well as a variety of conceptual and writing work, the company ran the PR accounts for a number of local and national businesses. I employed two people as well as myself.
The business successfully produced some really nice work on behalf of its clients. But if you know me, you’ll know that I’m not a PR person. Quite rubbish at it as a matter of fact and will go to some lengths to avoid meetings, let alone smiley air kissing PR occasions.
One of the best things about this period was sharing offices with Simon Milldown and Stephen Stebbings who now trade under the name Propeller, producing beautiful graphic design solutions. I’ve long written much of the client copy for them and hope to continue to do so until the three of us have to be wheeled, bickering, to Costa in our bath chairs.
Expecting my first son provided the ideal opportunity to exit Moore Creative.
I began freelance writing from home when my son was a few months old. It was the turn of the century and the beginning of the first major web explosion.
